Starting school is such a milestone moment for your child and for you as parents and carers and we are excited that you chose our school. TRANSITION ARRANGEMENTS FOR CHILDREN STARTING RECEPTION IN SEPTEMBER 2024
Information Sessions for Parents – Tuesday 18 June 2024
We will be hosting Information Sessions for Parents on Tuesday 18 June at 9am and 5pm - parents are welcome to attend whichever session is most convenient. The sessions will be led by Mrs Littlewood who will be our Early Years Lead from September. We will talk about our curriculum, school day, preparing to start school and answer any questions you may have.
PLEASE NOTE THE SESSIONS ARE ONLY SUITABLE FOR ADULTS.
Stay & Play Sessions - Tuesday 2 July 2024 / Tuesday 9 July 2024
We will be running Stay & Play sessions for parents and children from 15:30 – 16:30 on Tuesday 2 July and Tuesday 9 July. This will be an informal opportunity for our Early Years staff to get to know a bit more about your child while you have fun together and to introduce you both to the Reception environment.

Tuesday 2 July - for children transferring to St Thomas from Sunnydays Preschool

Tuesday 9 July - for children transferring to St Thomas from other settings or no previous setting
Transition Week - 4–6 September 2024
The children will be spilt into two groups each of which will attend a separate transition day before all starting school on Friday.

Wednesday 4 September - Transition Day for children transferring to St Thomas from Sunnydays Preschool

Thursday 5 September - Transition Day for children transferring to St Thomas from other settings or no previous setting

Friday 6 September - ALL CHILDREN IN SCHOOL

Please do not buy a PE t-shirt until you have been advised which house your child is in (siblings are always in the same house)

We don't have space for rucksacks in school, each child has a drawer which will only accomodate a book bag - the children will be given a plastic bag for their reading/library books; more substantial book bags are available from the school office

All children will need a water bottle, these should be 500ml max with a non-spill lid
